Two 30 minute music workshops.

Music can be enjoyed in many ways and these music workshops aim to expose children to the joys of music making and performing through simple singing games, simple instrument playing and movement exercises with games.

There will be some opportunities to play simple percussion instruments and Orff ‘xylophones’. There will be a chance to explore dramatic possibilities raised by this year’s Animalia theme by using animal puppets from the S,B&W Foundation’s Performing Arts Collection.

The puppets will be introduced by Maddy Slabacu and Ben Kuryo from Horizon Theatre Company.

Janet Bagnall, accredited music teacher with expertise in the Orff/Kodaly music education methods, will lead the sessions with the use of the Foundation’s grand piano and her collection of ethnic and percussive instruments which children will be encouraged to use creatively.
